Sana and Noora's talk was great too, it was nice just seeing a full length conversation between them because it's rare a TV show will have that long of a scene.
It did have some great moments though, Vilde and Sana had some amazing moments by giving her advice, I really really loved when Vilde made tortilla's and quoted Noora, I actually got emotional because it showed she isn't just some ditz, but she actually cares about her friends and even though this is a given, you don't see it much.
There were also a lot of side characters coming and going and to me, it kinda felt a little cluttered. Not only that, but it had the longest episodes and I found myself kinda wanting them to finish already. In hindsight, I think the season was decent, but they kinda shifted a lot of the characters personalities and it just didn't feel right. I mean up until that point William had made it pretty clear he was obsessed with her, and also knows his brother is a manipulative asshole, but the moment Noora might have cheated he just ditches her to go to London!? If I was Noora I would have been pissed as hell if I had possibly been raped by my boyfriends brother and he blamed me for it. Once Noora was "raped" by Niko, I was thinking we would get one of those cliche brother fights, but William's reaction was even worse. I think what made this season the lowest for me was the inconsistency.
I was really pissed that they turned Eva into the dumb party girl too, that was a bit out of character, plus the fact that her relationship with Jonas was sorta sugar coated into being just friends was. I was happy that Noora resisted him for so long, and the introduction of Eskild and Linn was awesome, but the story itself I just didn't find very interesting. Now, William wasn't exactly a villain, but the way he was first introduced set him up to be the asshole jock and I honestly would have been fine if he stuck like that. I'll start off by saying I'm not a very big fan of villain redemption arcs, so when I found out William was really gonna be the love interest I was a little annoyed. Noora was one of my favorite side characters in S1, just because she had that personality of speaking her mind, and not being afraid to express herself. I might get some hate for this, but to me, this season was the weakest, so the fact that it had the longest episodes is a bit. Overall, I really enjoyed this season and all the characters played well around each other. I honestly wanted Eva to drag him, and was a little annoyed when she just accepted his apology so suddenly, but they were good friends so I guess I can understand. So his character in the season was always the nice best friend who gives advice, so when the big reveal happened I was SHOOK! I was fucking shocked when it was revealed Isak was behind the mistrust between Eva and Jonas, as I thought Isak and his sexuality wouldn't happen until his own season.
Vilde, Sana, and Chris were great friends and they had some great moments, I really liked how Vilde and Chris were introduced as well, since I thought they were just gonna be some random people in a club. I totally thought Eva and Noora would end up together, just because of the way Noora was introduced lmao I understand it's because this is a drama, but still. Cliche at times, as when she would turn on Jonas very easily, but at the same time Jonas wasn't doing himself any favors either. Yes, Vilde, Sana, and Noora were there, and they made great side characters, and Isak was able to begin building his storyline, but it was balanced very well in that even with these other characters, Eva was still in the spotlight. I really enjoyed the dynamic, as it really truly focused on Eva and her problems, it was really just about her and Jonas. I really liked it, though I wish the episodes had been in the s2 length range. So I've seen clips about Skam on YouTube, as I've occasionally binged the gay storylines in drama shows, but I've never actually watched them.Īnyway, after watching a few Skam videos I decided to give it a try, as each season isn't that long and the episodes are all under an hour (I'll be touching up on that actually) this was my first foreign drama show, and I'm glad because it was pretty good.Īs for the show itself and characters involved, here are my thoughts!
